Image to EPS converter for print and signage

Printers and sign makers often ask for an EPS. VKTR traces your PNG, JPG, WebP or HEIC image into vector paths and writes a real vector EPS: paths only, with no embedded image and no fonts. The conversion runs in your browser.

01 / How it works

How to convert an image to EPS in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your image

Drop, choose or paste a PNG, JPG, WebP or HEIC up to 20 MB into the Studio.

  2. 02

    Check and edit the vectors

Set the number of colours or switch to black and white, then recolour, move or delete shapes and check the lettering.

  3. 03

    Download the EPS

Set the width in millimetres and download the EPS, or a PDF if your printer prefers one.

02 / What you get

What is in the EPS file

  • A true vector EPS

EPSF-3.0 made of paths only: no embedded image and no fonts, so nothing goes missing on another computer.

  • Colour or black and white

Auto chooses between 2 and 32 colours, or set the number yourself; gradients are written as smooth shadings.

  • Sized for print

You set the width in millimetres when you download, so the artwork arrives at the size you need.

  • Know the limits

EPS has no transparency, so fades are blended into what lies beneath, and it keeps no groups or names. Use SVG or PDF when you need them.

03 / Tips

For the cleanest result

  • Ask what your printer wants

Many printers now prefer a PDF made to their specification. VKTR's PDF is vector too, with paths only.

  • Check lettering and thin lines

Traced lettering is made of shapes. Zoom in before you download, especially on small text.

  • Start from a sharp original

Logos and flat artwork trace best. Photos become stylised artwork rather than exact copies.

04 / Questions

Image to EPS: questions and answers

Can I convert a PNG or JPG to EPS?

Yes. VKTR traces PNG, JPG, WebP or HEIC up to 20 MB into vector paths and downloads them as EPS, SVG, PDF or DXF.

EPS or SVG for printing?

Both are vector formats. EPS is the older print format that many sign and print workflows still request; SVG and PDF also keep transparency and, for VKTR's files, groups. Send the format your printer asks for.

Is VKTR's EPS really vector?

Yes. It is made of vector paths only, with no embedded image and no fonts.

Is the image to EPS conversion free?

Converting, previewing and editing are free with no account. Each download uses one token, and every free account gets 1 token every 7 days.
